EdgeLightX ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

EdgeLightX requests the following permissions to provide its core features:

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO, MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS): Used solely for real-time music visualization effects. Audio data is processed locally on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Phone State (READ_PHONE_STATE): Used to detect incoming calls and trigger edge lighting effects. Call content and phone numbers are never accessed or stored.
• Notification Access (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE): Used to detect incoming notifications and trigger edge lighting effects. Notification content is not stored or transmitted.
• Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to display edge lighting effects over other applications.
• Storage (READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used only on Android 12 and below to save and load wallpapers selected by you.
• Set Wallpaper (SET_WALLPAPER): Used to apply wallpapers you choose within the app.
• Battery Optimization (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS): Requested to keep the edge lighting service running reliably in the background.
• Foreground Service: Used to run the edge lighting service while the app is active.
• Internet & Network State: Used for displaying ads (Google AdMob), verifying subscriptions (Google Play Billing), and loading remote content (Firebase).
• Accessibility Service: Used to detect screen and app events to trigger edge lighting effects. No user input or screen content is recorded or transmitted.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or share:

• Audio recordings or call content
• Notification content or message text
• Personal identification information
• Location data
• Contacts or call logs

3. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google AdMob – displays advertisements. May collect device identifiers and usage data. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing – handles in-app purchases and subscriptions. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Firebase (Firestore, Remote Config, Storage) – used for remote configuration and content delivery. See Firebase Privacy Policy.

4. Data Security

All permission-sensitive data (audio, notifications, phone state) is processed entirely on-device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data.

5. Children's Privacy

EdgeLightX is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
